The Juneli School of Nepali Language
The Juneli School of Nepali Language has been operational since 2004. This is one of the effective and self-sustained programs of the Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton (NECASE). The program has continued to provide successful graduates. This program has contributed significantly in maintaining the Nepali Language and culture among new generation children and youth. Our School has been running under the guidance of the NECASE Board and the Parents Advisory Council. Currently the school has three teachers and two student volunteer teachers who are devoted to teaching Nepali language to the children of different skill levels. Teachers engage children in learning through different activities while having fun at the same time. These activities include both in class and outdoor. Storytelling, talent show, show and tell, field visits, movie nights are the highlights of such activities.
The language class is held at NECASE Centre located at 5624-53 Ave NW, Edmonton (T6B 3K1) every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM except during Christmas, spring, and summer breaks. Currently, there are 28 kids enrolled. The School opens the registration for the kids in the community who are 6 years of age or older.
